The High Museum is one of America’s biggest and most accomplished museums. Its collection features 11,000 pieces and ranges from antiques to modern and contemporary paintings, sculptures and installations. The High tries to educate through hands-on workshops (in creating African masks or painting self-portraits) and sees its place as a mediator between the public and the art. Be sure to buy tickets for their special exhibitions early on, they are in high demand.
