Discover Award-Winning Cuisine at Sel de la Terre
At this French bistro translated “salt of the earth,” the gastronomically inclined will discover award-winning country French cuisine. Owned by restaurateur Geoff Gardner and Frank McClelland of L’Espalier fame, Sel de la Terre offers a beautifully decorated intimate dining room filled with serious servers delivering dishes of pan roasted halibut, roasted lamb loin, grilled Angus ribeye and roasted free-range chicken. Oh, and the rosemary pommes frites should not be missed.
The restaurant is located near the New England Aquarium making it the perfect stop for families with children (there is even an upscale kid’s menu here – think Tartine au Fromage Fondu, better known as grilled cheese). The bar scene here is bustling at night with diners noshing on such treats as grilled flatbread topped with duck confit or a juicy burger with Vermont cheddar and blue cheese aioli. There is another location in the Back Bay adjacent to the new Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Boylston Street as well as a third location in Natick.
Insider’s Tip: A late night menu is available from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
