They say “dress to impress,” but at The Violet Hour in Wicker Park it’s more like “drink to impress.” Over and over again this bar is touted for having Chi-town’s best cocktails and it’s hard to argue after you watch the masterful work put into each and every colorful concoction that’s handcrafted, shaken or stirred with loving care.

Ignore the prices here and just indulge. Maybe even ignore the food menu as drinking in one’s calories is far more important here. Sit back and relax whilst enjoying how smashing everyone looks in the dim lighting and take in the lush design of early 19th century Georgian design of a drinking salon.
