Norah Jones Hangs at The Living Room

When multi Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter and New York native Norah Jones heads out to listen to great music, she goes to The Living Room.

This Lower East Side live music venue is Picture 14notorious for hosting surprise famous guests, like Norah Jones herself. “A lot of my friends play there,” Norah told citybuzz. “It’s mellow, there’s usually no cover; it’s just an easy going place to hear great music.” And great music many will find, from Grammy award-winning musicians to up-and-coming New Yorkers to talented Broadway stars branching off into their own music. The venue moved to a larger location on Ludlow in 2003, but is still a very intimate space. Upon walking through the door, there’s a bar area that looks like the average cool Lower East Side spot, but in the back is the main music room and upstairs is a lounge that also hosts the more intimate (like 20 people) shows. With killer music, no cover and a cool crowd, The Living Room is an icon in one of the coolest neighborhoods in Manhattan.

*** Norah Jones is a five-time Grammy award-winner whose debut album, Come Away With Me, earned a total of eight Grammys. She has released four albums: Come Away With Me, Feels Like Home, Not Too Late and The Fall.
