San Domenico Gets a Makeover at SD26
Out with the old, in with the new. Luckily at the new San Domenico restaurant, SD26, they’ve kept the fine food that made them a staple on Central Park South and modernized the package with a hot, new location, technologically-savvy wine lists, and a sleek decor.
Fitting for its new downtown location on Madison Square Park, SD26 is receiving rave reviews from the likes of New York Magazine about their salumeria and hip computer-card system wine list. The old-fashioned, button-down waiters are gone and now the staff is dressed in chic, clean, postmodern outfits. SD26 has kept the Italian cuisine, but added to it, like with the Il Quadrofiglio (the health symbol in Italy) one course lunch meal.
Favorite dishes include the “Uovo” soft egg yolk filled ravioli with truffled butter and Salumi plates with all imported Italian proscuitto, buffalo mozzarella and salamani. Top off the incredible Italian meal with a traditional tiramisu dessert. SD26 is definitely improved and still delicious.
