Fluid Nightclub is the only place in Philadelphia that this Grammy award-winning Roots member makes regular appearances in and it is well worth the experience. Meander down a dark alley on a side street and you will find a music lover’s haven full of people ready to dance. The dance floor is the perfect size and the lounge upstairs provides a quieter refuge for when your tush needs a seat.

Saturday nights are “Sex Dwarf” nights, when local celeb and radio host Robert Drake finds his inner 80’s child and spins Bowie, the Smiths, and other New Wave tunes all night long. These are notoriously fabulous and wild, so be prepared for a night of dancing, mingling and drinking. Other DJs that have graced Fluid are Jazzy Jeff, Cash Money, and King Britt.

The staff is attentive and friendly, and it doesn’t take the entire evening to get one drink, keeping you free to cut a rug all night long.
