Relaxed Fine Dining at Michel Richard’s, Citronelle

Dubbed a “Who’s Who” of American Food and Wine by the prestigious James Beard Foundation, Executive Chef and owner, Michel Richard, brings culinary excellence to his work at the innovative French hotspot, Citronelle.  Appropriately located in European-inspired, Georgetown, Citronelle features an exciting menu of light, fresh and flawlessly executed menu items, hard to come by on this side of the pond.

Although Citronelle embodies refined fine-dining, Richard and his talented staff impart a unique degree of informality at the award-winning restaurant.  Likewise, the menu reflects Richard’s exceptional culinary talent, yet with an unexpected essense unique to the celebrity chef’s playful reputation.

Share entrees for two off of the Prix Fix dinner menu, or savor a variety of deletable dishes from the Promenade Gourmande dinner menu. Start off with a tantalizing amuse bouche before experiencing the wonders of Michel Richard’s creations, like the Halibut with lobster-saffron broth or the Roasted Suckling Pig Shoulder with sweet potato gratin and barley.  For a traditional French dish with a playful addition, try the Chateaubriand with tater tots, mushrooms and horseradish veal jus. Finish your evening off with a rich, French cheese course or opt for one of Richard’s sweet treats (he began his career in a patisserie, so the desserts will definitely blow you away!).  Named “one of the world’s most exciting restaurants” by Conde Nast Traveler magazine, Citronelle exemplifies some of the best cuisine and experiential dining in the District.
