In the mood for a little updated Italian? Factor in a trip to Teatro Goldoni on your next restaurant tour of DC.  With traditional Italian favorites, as well as a few modern surprises, Teatro Goldoni will definitely make for a satisfying evening out. Voted DC’s Best Italian Restaurant by Washingtonian and Esquire Magazines, as well as a 2009 RAMMY Award Winner for Favorite DC Restaurant, this little piece of Italy with its chic flair is the perfect choice for your next meal in the District.

With a diverse menu full of appetizers, small plates, pasta and risotto favorites, as well as traditional, larger plates, choosing is definitely not the best part about dining at this Italian gem.  Start off with an modern take on the authentic tomato and mozzarella pairing – Teatro Goldoni offers fresh Buffalo Mozzarella with baby eggplant, candied cherry tomatoes and balsamic gelatin.  For even more diverse offerings, select a few dishes from the inventive Small Plates menu. Try the Prosciutto Wrapped Scallops with black truffles, pea fondue, leeks and Vidalia onion chips or the Italian Sushi, composed of prosciutto, asparagus, mushrooms, goat cheese, pickled carrots and balsamic sauce.

For a heartier selection, order off of the Large Plates menu with a variety of updated Italian favorites, such as the Veal Chop with cipollotti ragu and orange mascarpone sauce.
