Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech resonated and transformed the world from the stage at Lincoln Memorial in DC. So what b
etter way to celebrate this historic man’s birthday than in the nation’s capital.
There are a plethora of events taking place to commemorate MLK’s life and work all across the capital. The Choral Arts Society will be kicking off the celebrations for a tribute on January 10th, a Georgetown tribute, an observance at the Department of Interior, and of course a service will be taking place where it all started at the Lincoln Memorial. There’s also a film festival and a holiday weekend family festival in the days leading up to the big holiday. Phew!
