Picture 22Since 1988 groups from diverse Caribbean islands have been coming together every May to put on a celebration of West Indian Culture, with a carnival. This year’s carnival will feature costume bands, Steelpan, and Masqueraders, all dancing and making music while parading through the streets of downtown Atlanta. And afterwards the festivities continue at the festival village, which will feature arts and crafts, authentic Caribbean foods and live entertainment.

The celebration snakes through the best parts of Atlanta. The carnival begins at Civic Center Marta Station, proceeds on West Peachtree to Peachtree St. then turns left on John Wesley Dobbs, hangs a right onto Fort St and enter Village, and ends at corner of Auburn Ave/Fort Street. A day of food, fun, and plenty of music, the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival is fun the whole family can enjoy.
