Screen shot 2010-03-24 at 12.50.48 PMWith over 75 national, regional, and local original bands, the free-to-attend outdoor “street party,” also known as the Deep Ellum Arts Festival, is what makes Deep Ellum one of Dallas’ most progressive and eclectic neighborhoods. With four separate outdoor stages, the festival presents a mix of music genres, including Dallas’ favorite fusion rock, southern soul, and “genre-breaking” bands. This year, the featured headliners include Shuttle, Moosehound, and Hendrick.

Other than music, there are more than 100 top-notch juried decorative and visual artists displaying and selling original works. There’s also the Pet Parade, where hundreds of pet owners and their pets can stroll down Main Street and take part in the various pet related activities and competitions. Throughout the weekend, there will be plenty of food, including Mexican, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Asian, and American.
