Set after the fall of Communism, an American astronaut and female Russian cosmonaut begin a love affair thousands of miles above the earth on the space station. But when ghosts from the past and the politics of the people below interfere, the two space lovers must decide whether their relationship should be brought back to Earth or end in space.
