Incredible weather, beautiful people, what’s there to hate about LA? Traffic! Well once a year the cars clear for runners and bikers for the 25th annual LA Marathon. Unlike many major cities where the marathon is a one-day event, in LA it’s a weekend long event. On Saturday, check out (or join!) the manageable 5K race at Dodger Stadium. After the hearty run, there’s the Win Forever Motivational Dinner hosted by none other than legendary sports figure, USC head coach Pete Carroll.
Of course, let’s not forget the big day. On Sunday, the marathon, with a brand new course this year, will start at Dodger Stadium and end, where else, than the beach at Santa Monica Pier. The course runs through some of LA’s most diverse neighborhoods and famous landmarks, and an added bonus will be the “Block Parties,” or live performances space along the route to entertain the spectators.
