Every year, the National Cathedral in Washington puts on a festival and flower show for families and gardeners. This year’s Flower Mart will feature plant sales, landscape exhibits, boutique booths and garden tours. There will also be plenty of activities for children, including a rock wall, moon bounce, mini-Ferris wheel and a century-old restored carousel. And there is sure to be plenty of fabulous music, and entertainment as well.

The food selection is as varied as the flowers, with vendor stations all around the Mart, including gourmet pizza, BBQ, lobster rolls and plenty of sweet baked goods. And this year the Cathedral offers a special treat on top of that. The first tower climb of the year will be during the Flower Mart. Brave the climb up the 333 steps to the bell-ringing chamber, 300 feet above the ground, where you will enjoy a demonstration of the bell ringing- not to mention the spectacular view of Washington from one of the city’s highest points.
