Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech resonated and transformed the world from the stage at Lincoln Memorial in DC. So what better way to celebrate this historic man’s birthday than in the nation’s capital.
There are a plethora of events taking place to commemorate MLK’s life and work all across the capital. The Choral Arts Society will be kicking off the celebrations for a tribute on January 10th, a Georgetown tribute, an observance at the Department of Interior, and of course a service will be taking place where it all started at the Lincoln Memorial. There’s also a film festival and a holiday weekend family festival in the days leading up to the big holiday. Phew!
