Salt Factory is an impressive and refreshing contender in the gastro pub circuit. Though once inside you forget you are in suburbia, Salt Factory definitely gives some trendy relief to the famous Canton Street in Roswell. Burly servers discuss the merits of Belgian beer and the difference between a British pint and an American pint (Brits beat us in ounces), and while the list is selective, it isn’t as, er, stout as it could be. Be as adventurous as possible and stick with the interesting imports and save the Stella for a Buckhead bar. Split up a meat and cheese plate with the table or grab a bleu burger for yourself.
Offerings are divided into categories marked, “bits,” “pieces,” “stuff,” “plates” and “sweets” — though those things seem to overlap. Bits include the likes of popped sorghum grain ($2) and deviled ham in eggs ($3), while pieces include brisket chili with cool ranch oyster crackers ($3) and waffle fries with maple syrup ($3.50). A red hot chili dog with pepperjack cheese foam and Vidalia onion ($6) and a fennel sausage with San Marzano ketchup, fontina cheese and grilled radicchio ($6.50) are at the heart of the stuff.
Crepe Revoution is one of Atlanta’s best kept secrets, but it won’t be for long.
They feature brunch, lunch, and dinner–and you can order any of their delectable crepes at any time. They also have other great items on the menu such as tilapia, fillet mignon, salads, and much much more.
Crepe Revolution is pretty charming and sophisticated looking on the interior. With monthly wine tastings and on Wednesday nights wines by the bottle are half off. In speaking with Neel Sengupta, Founder of Crepe Revolution, you can immediately tell how much pride he has in his restaurant. And as he puts it, Atlanta is a city that tends to follow trends (read = pizza, burgers) but he wants to start a trend with crepes, rather than follow the herd.
