For the next month starting March 11, Chicago’s best amateurs will be duking it out at the annual Chicago Golden Gloves Tournament. Since 1923, this has become a Chicago classic event with such past, big name winners as Joe Louis, Cassius Clay and numerous US Olympians. Through a series of bouts, those who have the skill and those who do not will be weeded into a team that will represent Chicago at the National Golden Gloves Championships in May. For those who love a good fight and want to see some up and coming talent, this is the sporting event of the season.
