Brazil in Chicago: é ótimo!

Nestled in a cozy home in the German ‘hood of Lincoln Square is the oh-so Brazilian abode of Brazil in Chicago. Here Windy City residents can tap into their inner Brazilian by taking Portuguese lessons which are even offered for native French and Spanish speakers and kid’s classes. In addition, cooking classes and dancing lessons (samba anyone) are available. Muito obrigada to Marcelo Jarmendia, the brains behind this recently booming school.

5. Mardi Gras Brazilian Style! Feb. 20

Picture 18It’s not fair that Brazilians get to have all the fun during Carnaval (the international equivalent to Mardi Gras) so Brazilian Nites Productions is allowing West Coasters to share in on the festivities. The 10th Annual Brazilian Carnaval brings an authentic representation of the Brazilian tradition to Club Nokia at LA Live. Over 3,000 people will pack the house with samba beats, costumes, and parading, making it the largest Carnaval on the West Coast. DJ Garth Trinidad, Trio Electrico and Caso do Samba will bring that Brazilian spirit to the dance floor.
