Enjoy Tex-Mex favorites at the Blue Goose

The Blue Goose Cantina offers up Tex-Mex favorites at five locations across the metroplex. The menu boasts all the favorites: enchiladas, fajitas, tamales, and of course a big ‘ol bowl of chile con queso. They also have rotating weekly specials, including specials during hatch chile season. The Blue Goose additionally offers a weekend brunch menu, complete with a Bloody Mary bar and is one of the few places in town that offers Machacado con heuvos, a shredded dry beef in a scramble. It’s also not Tex-Mex without a darn good margarita, and their ritas are award winning. Try their classic house margarita or for something a little sweeter the mango and prickly pear margaritas do not disappoint.

Despite having only one small bathroom, Matt’s Rancho Martinez has several things that ARE big: the salsa, Bob Armstrong dip, and yummy margaritas. Located next to the historical Lakewood Theater and winner of several accolades like “Best Tex-Mex” and “Best Chile Rellenos,” Matt’s is almost a rite of passage for Dallasites and tourists alike.  You can’t say you’ve experienced Texas culture until yPicture 4ou’ve had a steaming plate of fajitas, something smothered in queso until it’s unidentifiable, and had a tall glass of sweet tea to wash it down.  Matt’s Rancho is certainly the place to experience this, and then some.

Parking can be tricky, as Matt’s can be packed on weekends, but it’s worth circling around the block a few times to taste the delicious blend of cheese, beef and fresh guacamole in the Bob Armstrong dip. One last reason to check out Matt’s? Ka-ching-its reasonable prices gives you no excuse not to indulge in all your favorites.
