What are you doing this New Year’s Eve, NYC?? We’ve got some great ideas for how to ring in 2015.

1. New Year, New Mummers Parade 1/1/10

Picture 19Start your new year off right with the people of Philadelphia at the Mummers Parade. Each year, the crowds flood into the streets to gawk at the extremely elaborate feather and sequined decorated floats as they drive by during this mystical celebration.

The parade itself is divided into 5 separate divisions ranging from the small comics with their clowns, floats, dudes, wenches and humor to the fancy brigades with their Broadway show style using fancy props and intricate choreography.

3. Tournament of Roses: Rose Parade & Rose Bowl 1/1/10.

The Tournament of Roses is so big that it’s broken into two major events, with each having their own nPicture 17ickname. The Rose Bowl Parade is affectionately known as “America’s New Year’s Celebration” and the Rose Bowl Game as “The Grandaddy of Them All.” Celebrating the culmination of the college football season, the Tournament of Roses brings together the top of the Big Ten and Pacific-10 teams and is consistently the highest attended football game.
If you’re not a fan of football, but still want to celebrate, the Parade is an internationally televised event featuring universally loved floats, marching bands, and celebrities. So get up and smell the Roses!

3. Romance in the New Year at Nana’s 12/31/09

the_bar_at_nana.pngFeast your way into the New Year with an eight-course dinner prepared by Executive Chef Anthony Bombaci at one of the “Top 10 Romantic Restaurants in America” as honored by ForbesTraveler.com.  The evening includes a bottle of Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label Brut champagne per couple, live entertainment, dancing, a balloon drop, and party favors.  Hilton Anatole’s award-winning Nana will host three different party options to ring in the New Year. We’ll put money on it that someone will get engaged when that ball drops!

4. SF’s Only NYE “A-List” Event 12/31/09

Ring in the New Year with luxury and fun at the A List event at the Westin St. Francis in Union Square.  This is a huge event, with 15 of San Francisco’s best DJ’s, live art display, theme-based props, a fashion show, and even stilt-walkers and exhibitionists.

The theme is “Passport to the World” with rooms themed for the US, Europe, Asia, the North Pole and beyond. And after all the craziness this party has to offer, you may feel like you’ve been partying all around the globe.
