The Cheese Course: Gourmet nibblin’s

It’s not all about nibbling on some cheese at The Cheese Course in Midtown but that’s definitely the place’s biggest draw. The menu is mainly comprised of a veritable enormity of combinations of hard and soft cheeses with perfect accompaniments.

Some brie and manchego with olive tapenade, or perhaps a robust stilton and limburger with a side of fig spread. The combinations here are endless and what’s fun is trying as many different ones as possible. The sandwiches here are excellent too, all served on fresh baked baguettes. One of my personal faves is the Spanish serrano ham with manchego, black olive tapenade, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar and greens.

The wines available for pairing are top notch too and it’s virtually impossible to leave without buying something from their incredible market.

The Cheese Course is located at 3451 NE 1 Avenue, Miami, FL

3. Young Frankenstein Comes to Life July 1-25

Picture 34After a successful run in New York, the Young Frankenstein musical re-imagining of Mel Brooks’ classic spoof film has been on a non-stop US tour and is being reanimated in San Francisco. The beloved characters Igor, Dr. Frankenstein, Inga, and of course, the monster are all here, alive and singing. The catchy songs, amazing sets, and the entertaining dancing will make for a fun and unforgettable night. To top it all off, it is at the beautiful, art deco Golden Gate Theatre, whose prime location offers several pre-theatre dinner choices.

Millennium Knickerbocker

You’ll be treated like royalty at this landmark hotel on the Magnificent Mile that is more posh than posh. The walls are adorned with linen-like wallcoverings, Lucite bedside lamps set the extravagant guest rooms aglow, and, of course, there’s the renowned Crystal Ballroom with its illuminated dance floor, crystal chandeliers, and gilded domed ceiling that is absolutely otherworldly. And if it’s drinks you want, it’s drinks you will get at the Martini Bar that features a selection of over 50 martinis! What more could you ask for?
