Don’t let the start of the week get you down – we’ve got a couple of shows for you to see plus a great Restaurant Week pick!

BACK TO THE 80’s – JULY 17-19

Happy Weekend, NYC! Cool off with delicious ice cream at Rosa Mexicano or catch a concert or movie.

Meet a former President, indulge in some amazing ice cream flavors, and see an awesome exhibit in Brooklyn.

Twisted Root

Three chefs, sick of eating frozen, tiny, and under-seasoned burgers, opened a real burger joint to make it the way they do at home. Fresh and seasoned meat, hand battered buttermilk fried stuff, fresh cut sweet potatoes, homemade pickles, Root Beer, ice cream and even condiments… It’s like eating at our kitchen table!

Cool off at Paciugo

This family owned now-national chain started right here at home after the Ginatta family missed the rich espresso and gelatos of Italy after a relocation to Dallas. They opened up Paciugo to share these flavors of Italy with Dallas and have now expanded to 15 states across the country. At Paciugo’s you’ll find a healthy variety of traditional Italian gelato flavors (like Italian wedding cake, Tiramisu and Limoncella) as well as some more modern and locally inspired flavors, like Tres Leches, green tea and turtle cheesecake. There’s nothing like a spoonful of Paciugo’s melting on your tongue to cool off on a hot day or even soak in holiday spirit with seasonal flavors like egg nog and pumpkin pie.

Capogiro Gelato Rivals That From Italia

In Italian, capogiro means dizziness from something wonderful. The heavenly treats at Capogiro Gelato are beyond that!  The exquisitely crafted flavor combinations are quite simply out of this world, with the New York Times raving that there’s nothing subtle about Capogiro’s gelato.  Everything at this artisanal shop is handmade and they use fresh ingredients for the creamy treats, meaning that the seasonally driven menu is always changing based on the harvest. This treat rivals the gelato and sorbetto in Italy-  and there’s even been rumors that Capogiro is better.

Indulge at Dylan’s Candy Bar

With over 5,000 types of candy on three sweet floors, the New York Candy Cafe and multiple private party rooms, Dylan’s Candy Bar is not only the largest candy store in New York, but the largest in the world. As featured in Vogue and the New York Times, Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York is the ultimate sweet-tooth attraction for the candy lover in you. Peruse the award winning displays of candy – there’s a life-size tree made of over-sized lollipops – or challenge yourself and your belly to an I Bet You Can’t Sundae – that’s ten scoops of ice cream and ten toppings for twenty bucks! Make sure to go in on this one with a friend or two if you hope to get up out of your seat when the spoons have hit the bottom of the dish. Or if you prefer to save your figure, just buy a few of your favorite childhood candies, they are sure to have whatever you are looking for here in this spectacular world of lollipops, gummy bears, jelly beans and chocolate. Looking for gourmet sea-salt caramels? They’ve got that. Kosher Marshmallow twists? You’ll find them here. Yummy edible bikinis? Yeah, they’ve even got those.
