NV Penthouse Lounge: Don’t Be Jealous

e15296image1OK so we admit, NV Penthouse Lounge has a point: we’re envious. Who wouldn’t be of their 600 square foot terrace on the penthouse floor over looking the entire city of Chicago? Thankfully this place is open to the public so we can all go in and soak up the scene and pretend just for a night, that we own the place.

The green light emanating from this sexy club (if you ever get yourself off the terrace to actually spend time in it) is probably a play on being green with jealousy, we get it. But just check it at the door so there’s no hating and you can dance amongst all the beautiful people without stirring up too much trouble. This place is one to see and be seen but do it with love people.

3 Stories + 1 Rooftop = Vinyl Madness

Picture 12When size matters, Club Vinyl delivers. Occupying four stories, the huge, neopsychedelic space rises from a mellow basement bar to a rockin’ rooftop patio lined with sofas and fire pits; in between, of course, are pool tables, VIP areas, and dance floors galore, complete with go-go girls and a line-up of DJs from the world over (including Amsterdam’s Mason and Montreal’s Megasoid), playing everything from reggaeton, hip hop, and Latin house to trance and electronica.

Skewing young (18+) on Saturdays and gay-friendly on Sundays, the crowd is unusually diverse—after all, there’s room for everybody here.

Rocker Jamie Jo Harris Parties at The Wall

The newest lifetime member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame is also an It Girl on the Miami social scene. Jamie Jo Harris is one part rock-chic jewelry designer, one part Kylie Minogue-esque singer-songwriter, so when she wants to let loose, it’s always on a dance floor, and more often than not it’s at W South Beach’s new hotspot The Wall.

Jamie Jo told citybuzz that if you’re Picture 33looking for a “great ‘in spot,'” then Wall is one of the elite places to go in Miami. Describing it as “very fresh and chic,” this lounge/club just opened in 2009 and is as sleek a club as the W is a hotel. Outfitted in a gold and black theme and refreshingly high ceilings covered with gold copper mesh, Wall sets the stage for a glamorous night of dancing and bottle service. The dance floor is nearly as spacious as the airy ceiling levels. The ever changing lights of purples, reds and greens against the wall is an added bonus to get you in the mood for a serious night of partying to hip hop and Top 40 mixes. If you’re lucky, you might even catch Jamie Jo behind the DJ booth, spinning the killer mix that has everyone dancing.

As one of the newest nightclubs on SoBe and with VIP events happening every week, Wall’s velvet rope is one of the hardest- and best- to get through.

*** Jamie Jo Harris is a singer-songwriter and founder of jewelry line, Belle Coeur. Jamie Jo’s latest album, In Violet, features the hit single “U Turn Me On,” featuring none other than legendary vocalist Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees.

Have a Devilishly Good Time at Purgatory

Three levels, three different styles of music, three different bars to place your order. Purgatory in Dallas is massive in size and comprised of the naughtiest and nicest places of the afterlife all under one roof: Hell (lowest level), Purgatory, and Heaven (the top level). Picture 18

Hell produces a bumping hip-hop beat and showcases concrete bars and urban accents. The Purgatory level features a Ladies Lounge and martini bar where females can reconvene without their dates and engage in girl talk. The 37,000 watt cyber light system in Heaven is visually stimulating and moves to the beat of the popular Euro-techno music.

If you want to go the VIP route and lounge in style with your entourage, the Upper Heaven level can be reserved for bottle service, food service from adjoining Pandora restaurant, and private conversation. With so many levels and features to choose from, you’re sure to find one style that meshes with your mood of the night.

Enclave Encapsulates all the Beautiful People

Wondering where all the beautiful people are? Look no further, they’re at “Best of Citysearch Nightlife Winner,” Enclave. The who’s who of Chicago- and everywhere else- has been/performed here: Lady GaGa, Brody Jenner, Akon, Carmen Electra, Betsey Johnson, Holly Madison, and Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, to namePicture 10 a few.

Here, it’s all about bottle service. They’ve got anything you want, as long as it’s upscale. Whether it’s magnums of champagne (the real stuff only) or the hot, new, trendy vodka (Grey Goose or Effen), it all comes with fresh flowers and carafes of juice.

House and hip hop beats penetrate with an array of different hot DJs on the weekends and plenty of events to keep the year rolling; from football parties for Northwestern to Lady GaGa mixing it up with the locals. The two-story, 15,000 square foot space has chic, shiny wood floors, beautiful sofas and intimate-inspiring sheer curtains.

With never-ending A-List events and a hot, young, Chicago crowd, Enclave is the place to be for some serious partying in Chi-town.

4. See NYC in Boston at In The Heights 1/12-1/24/10

Picture 27Finally, a musical about the importance of family, home, and finding where you belong in this world, 4 time Tony Award winner In the Heights is welcomed to the stage at Boston’s Opera House.

This is the story about a lively community in Manhattan’s Washington Heights that is on the brink of change. In The Heights takes the rock element of Rent, but adds a twist of hip-hop and salsa to make this coming of age story inspiring, energetic, and completely unique from the other Broadway hits.
