It’s spring time again, which means the Chicago’s two baseball teams are suiting up for an exciting new season. Get into the baseball spirit by visiting either of Chicago’s two Major League Baseball teams. The Chicago Cubs play at the “friendly confines” of Wrigley Field on the north side. The White Sox play at U.S. Cellular Field on the south side. Both teams have excellent players and are looking to have great seasons. No matter what team you root for, it’ll be a great time.

3. India v. USA at Polo Cup on National Mall June 11-12

Picture 112Believe it or not, America’s Polo Cup World Championships, held in the heart of DC on the National Mall, is one of the world’s premier televised charity polo sporting events and the largest one of its kind in the DC area. Every year Team USA goes up against a different nation, and this year it’s India. But there’s a whole lot more than one game; this is a weekend extravaganza. The celebration kicks off on June 11th with an exclusive VIP party. On Saturday, the Championship and Fashion Show begin with a Bollywood style introduction that’s answered by an American rock anthem. The game is always intense both on and off the field, as the men duke it out with their horses while the women face off in a fashion hat frenzy to win the title of Best Hat and Best Dressed. It’s a chic European event in the heart of our nation’s Capital.

5. Celebrate World Champion Yankees in SoHo April 17

Picture 24Right on the heels of the New York Yankees home opener on April 13th, the Pop International Galleries in SoHo will be celebrating reigning the World Series winners, New York Yankees, with the unveiling of the Official World Series Victory Piece. Famed sports artists Stephen Holland will be on hand to present another three works of art featuring the Yankee’s most beloved and feared players: A-Rod, Mariano Rivera, and, of course, Derek Jeter. If you can’t get the opportunity to see them play ball, this event is open to the public to allow everyone to enjoy at least a beautiful representation of the famed players.

1. Cheer on Cowboys or Rebels at the Cotton Bowl 1/2/10

Root yPicture 9our team to victory at the 74th Annual AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. Oklahoma State University will go head to head with the Ole Mississippi Rebels at this year’s Cotton Bowl Classic. The first classic was envisioned by the late J. Curtis Sanford, a Dallas oilman and business executive, and the first of many games was held at the Fair Park’s Cotton Bowl Stadium. But this year they’re upgrading with the recently finished Cowboys Stadium hosting the classic game for the first time.

The Cotton Bowl halftime show will star the Rebel Band and the Cowboy Band, as well as a finale that will include 11 high school Marching Bands from across the country, and the world famous Kilgore College Rangerettes, who are making their 60th consecutive visit to the Cotton Bowl.

Get your tickets early, because the stadium will be packed with excited Cowboys, and ruthless Rebel fans.

1. NHL Classic at Fenway Park 1/1/2010

For the tenth year, the baseball field at legendary Fenway Park will transform into a hockey rink for the big game. This year’s match is the Philadelphia Flyers against the hometown favorite Boston Bruins.
