4-3      The Vidicom Scholarship

Working your way through college has its risks and rewards.   On one hand , you learn keep one
foot in the “real world” and can actually learn to budget your time more efficiently.   On the
other hand, a job can distract you from your studies.  And often time you spend in the real
world is not as rewarding as the time you spend in the classroom and with your books.
And, even if you do work, with rising tuition costs, it is hard to balance extra hours with the
hours you need to devote to school.
Here at Vidicom, we would like to help.  We are pleased to offer eligible students a chance to
apply for a Vidicom Scholarship.
4-4    Our Organization 
Over the past three decades, Vidicom has grown from a small media company into a major
presence in the industry. The company offers a full range of video content and digital
distribution services, designed to help brands achieve high levels of visibility and ultimately
reach their target consumers. Vidicom maintains an active role through several key media
channels, including its online live community known as InteracTV. Vidicom also owns and
operates Citybuzz, one of the largest Travelers networks in the United States with more than 15

million viewers every month.

Vidicom strategically places Citybuzz in a wide variety of out-of-home destinations, including
hotel rooms, airline seats, and taxis. Because Citybuzz typically appears in travel-related areas,
many of the videos feature information on cities around the country. Vidicom’s Citybuzz
currently operates in 19 markets in the United States, which includes more than 500,000 rooms
across more than 1,700 hotels. The Citybuzz hotel program features a number of celebrity
hosts, who inform viewers about topics such as live entertainment, shopping, fine dining, and
more.

Please submit a 500-1000 word essay about the most interesting website you have visited in the last year.  Explain why you found the site to be so unique and why it held your attention. Please note any other factors that made it interesting to you personally and what factors contributed to its excellence.

  • Please be sure to include your contact information and the name of the school you attend/plan to attend.
  • All submissions must be received by March 1, 2016.

Only one scholarship submission allowed for a Vidicom Scholarship per student.

 

4-6     Eligibility

You will be judged on

Our Executive Scholarship Team will judge essays based on how interesting, compelling and persuasive they are.  They will also be judged on how well-written each essay is.

If you already attend an accredited academic institution you are eligible.  If you are you are a high school senior who is enrolling upon graduation you are also eligible.   You do not have to major in any one specific field.  Applicants must be at least sixteen years of age.   Students of all majors and intended majors are welcome to participate.   However, all applicants are required to be residents of the United States.  Scholarship awards will not be sent directly to you.  Instead they will be sent to the Financial Aid Office of the institution where the finalist is enrolled.
