And who isn’t going to gravitate to this necklace of cascading diamonds. Looking for color? Giant gemstone rings are about as hot as it gets!

The Masterpiece That Is The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

The Guggenheim Museum is one of the most prized buildings and museums in New York City, and is often considered a masterpiece inside and out. Filling the famous rotunda halls with its highly-acclaimed contemporary art permanent collection and exhibitions, the Guggenheim always offers a unique and interactive experience to art.

Picture 25The Guggenheim Museum was integrated during the first half of the 20th century from several private collections. These private collections were so wonderfully different from each other that visitors have the opportunity to enjoy an enormous range of pieces from various historical as well as artistic periods: Mapplethorpe’s 200 finest photographs and objects, the Bohen Foundation’s room-sized film/video art works, and there’s an entire gallery dedicated to Kandinsky. The museum’s diverse and brilliant works reflect the course of modern art from the mid 1800’s to the present day via sculptures to light shows to paintings.

The Guggenheim is now celebrating its fiftieth anniversary in the landmark Frank Lloyd Wright building, with many groundbreaking anniversaries and exhibitions to come.

Harry Winston: Rare Gemstones and Diamonds Galore

You may know Harry Winston as the design house of Jennifer Lopez’s hugely famous million dollar pink diamond engagement ring, or as the man who owned- and donated- the most famous diamond in the world, the Hope Diamond, but this store holds much more than diamonds. On the top floor of the Fifth Avenue boutique, master craftsmen create handmade timepieces and one-of-a-kind designs. The collection of the aptly named “The Incredibles” features large and exquisitely cut sapphires, rubies, tourmalines, and emeralds in custom designs surrounded by none other than beautiful diamonds. The excellence and sheer beauty of the rare gemstones and designs makes this a Hollywood favorite for every major red carpet, wedding, or special event.

The likes of Cartier, Henri Bendel, Bergdorf Goodman, and Barney’s are known for the extravagant holiday windows and displays. Not only are the windows and mannequins all dressed up, some of the retailers decorate the outside buildings and sidewalks. You can’t help but get into the season with a walk along Fifth Avenue in December.

Rita Hazan: Color Knows No Better

RitaHazanWhen Oprah features you- twice- and Jessica Simpson cheats on the colorist she made famous to be in your hands, you must be someone of high quality. You must be colorist Rita Hazan.

By her humble personality and youthful appearance, one would never know they were in the hands of a beauty master. So our correspondent was shocked to see that when Rita Hazan starts to foil it’s as if a kung-fu ninja has emerged. Rita uses a special folding technique, almost like the FlipFold, that allows the time-consuming process to go remarkably fast with each foil being of the same size.

While this may seem like an accomplishment in itself, it’s the mixture she uses in the back that is true genius. Rita takes time to listen to her clients and hear what they cannot express themselves, ending with results that near perfection. And the color lasts nearly forever in hair terms; the only reason to touch one’s hair after emerging from the salon is to touch up the roots, but never the color.

To add to the experience, make sure to get the special protein hair treatment that leaves even the most butchered of blondes absolutely shiny.

So, sure, stylists get all the credit for the “perfect” cut, but anyone who dyes their hair knows that finding the “perfect” color is nearly impossible. From personal experience, we know Rita Hazan makes the impossible perfectly possible.
