Creating a harmonious home interior is the mission of Balance Order Nature and their collection of contemporary home furnishings. Their showroom along historic Coral Way features their clean and soothing lines and accessories.
What’s interesting about the designs here is they’re both contemporary but also with a throwback twist. The lamps especially borrow from the 1950s and 60s and incorporate a current feel to create a completely unique look. Other furnishings include small tufted chairs with modern legs, a modern take on the recliner featuring a flat leather reclining seat and simple, clean-lined simple tables and platform beds. It’s all pure simplicity at its best.
Already a mecca for great boutiques that fashionistas flock to, South Beach now gets two more, the Alchemist Shop with two locations on Lincoln Road.
One is a typical stand alone boutique the other is uniquely situated inside a parking garage. Of course, because it’s on South Beach it’s not just any parking garage, this is an industrial monstrosity at the tip of Lincoln Road. Now moviegoers can make a stop at this funky shop and sift through some truly unique fashions.

Seems like the Miami Design District is on everyone’s radar with many high-end boutiques to furniture/accessory stores opening in the area, many of which attract celebrities, designers and fashionistas.

The clickety clack of women wearing the signature shoes with the rich, red colored soles will be heard far and wide. Tokio 7 is the little 7th Street consignment shop that everyone goes to. The shelves and racks are always packed with lightly used – sometimes brand-new looking – designer clothes, shoes, and accessories at about half the retail price; and because the store sells so much, everything in there is always current. Looking for a pair of slick Paul Smith oxfords? Or a metallic Gucci minidress? How about a pair of Persol sunglasses? Or a Helmut Lang tank? They’ve got all that – but not for long. Next week it will be gone and in it’s place some Marc Jacobs cargo pants, Valentino motorcycle boots, a couple of Balanciaga handbags, and a Jill Sander shift dress. If you are lucky you may even find a couture Chanel jacket. Whatever you are looking for, Tokio 7 is wort checking out, especially now that it’s in its new location that is just a smidge bigger.
The French are known for their design sense so a bit of European influence around the home is never a bad thing and it’s easy to find at the legendary Roche Bobois. These folks have been designing pieces inspired by the Bauhaus movement as well as French designers since 1950.
A group of European and American designers collaborate to create the four collections that feature contemporary, provincial, Les Voyages and their highest end the Collection Particuliere. Each features lines of sofas, armchairs, chairs, dining tables, coffee tables, children’s furniture, desks and much more. Enough to furnish every room in the house.

It’s hard to believe the once infamous nightclub Limelight-that was once an Episcopal church turned into a scandalous late night party house- is now a chichi mall. There’s a doorman in a marble lobby of the new Limelight Marketplace, a chandelier on every ceiling, and exquisite – read, expensive – designer pajamas available from Olatz that you can wear in bed, while you eat artisan chocolate from Mariebelle Cacao Bar & Cafe.
On the first floor, formerly the main dance floor, there are Havianas and Hunter boots in every color imaginable, on the balconies there are flower arrangements from Barbara Scott (that might break the bank if you’re not careful), and rows of dainty handmade jewels from Tina Tang. And in the once co-ed bathroom that posted naked pictures of porn stars, you will find classy Brocade home furnishings fit for a modern princess.
In short, the Limelight Marketplace has it all for the ultimate upscale New York, however ironic, shopping experience. But lost on this irony the Limelight Marketplace is not. Many of the boutique stalls are set up around little bars that serve wares instead of alcohol: at Alexander West you can order a custom (bespoke!) men’s dress shirt and at Petrossian you can order ten different types off caviar – if that’s what you’re into. There are mannequins dressed as club kids on the main floor and there are antique bobbles from Old Hollywood on display in front of an enormous stained glass tryptic on the balcony. Shopping at the Limelight Marketplace is truly a unique experience – especially if you have experienced it in its former gritty glory.
For the stylish New York shopper only one stop is necessary: Bloomingdale’s. They are on top of every trend and have more brands than you’re even aware exist. In the denim department you’ll find J Brand, Joe’s Jeans, and 7 For All Mankind for miles; Rebecca Minkoff totes, and COMME des GARCONS wallets in the handbag department; Marc by Marc Jacobs ballet flats, Diane von Furstenberg clogs, and Stuart Weitzman heels of all types in shoes, and then there’s still more. Stella McCartney was born rock royalty, but in the design world she has become a fashion force to be reckoned with: Madonna, Gwyneth and Cameron are a few of her famous fans. Tory Burch, the designer that epitomizes Manhattan, Gossip Girl style, is actually a Philadelphia native- and raised on a farm, no less! But amidst all the glitz and glamour of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, Tory told citybuzz there’s one place she has to go when she’s back in her hometown: The Old Guard House Inn Restaurant.
Much like Tory’s upbringing, The Guard House, as Tory says, is in the suburbs of Philadelphia and quite unassuming. Yet, this historical landmark (rumor says George Washington slept here) is a neighborhood favorite for those in the know. Year after year it’s voted the Main Line’s best restaurant and the Philadelphia Inquirer gave it an “Excellent” rating.

The clothing must be no more than two years old, and in pristine condition, so with standards like that you are bound to find a steal at 30-70% off original prices.
This boutique gives- and receives. If you’re looking to ditch some duds for extra closet space and some weekend martini money, stop into the shop with three or more items and see if your garb is up Second’s alley.

“Get the London Look” may be Kate Moss’ Rimmel tagline, but it doesn’t apply more aptly than for the much buzzed about Topshop. As the face/designer of Kate Moss for Topshop and its highly anticipated U.S. debut in SoHo, Topshop puts the likes of other trendy, discount stores like H&M and Zara to shame. It’s colorful, crazy celebrified, and seriously stylish; there’s a massive shoe boutique, accessories section, vintage galore, and a floor dedicated to men. Other stores may have guest designers, but Topshop has a resident Supermodel, Kate Moss, and an entire

Teuscher Chocolates of Switzerland is in the main lobby as you enter off of Broad Street; the champagne truffles are bursts of decadent goodness. The shop is adorable and their chocolates are packaged beautifully, making great gifts for your return to home or the office.
